Shakuhachi Meditation Music is a double CD of acoustic ambience from Stan Richardson. The set covers three schools of traditional Japanese musical healing practice -- the Meian Ryu, the Kinko Ryu, and the Nezasa-ha. The absolute simplicity of the shakuhachi and the intricacy of these compositions seem incongruous, but they work well together. Richardson's gentle style creates soft clouds for relaxation. This CD will appeal to fans of Riley Lee, Life in Balance, Jonathan Goldman, and Blasdel & Uehara. ~ Jim Brenholts, Rovi
