Guitarist Brian Hughes harks back to the early '70s Creed Taylor sound on Shakin' Not Stirred, mixing blues, Brazilian and Latin rhythms, and atmospheric early fusion sounds in ways that often resemble the CTI recordings of Freddie Hubbard or Stanley Turrentine.
