"Shakespeare's Will" is a tour de force for an actress and a director. However, the play will be enjoyable by anyone interested in the mysteries of the Shakespeare's marriage and life.
It is a beautifully poetic 90 minute work for an actress, with transitions aided by music of the period and movement.. We find Anne returning home from her husband's funeral; she lays down his unread will and reflects upon their live together - and apart.
Eventually she reads the will, which has not one but two shocking revelations.
This powerful theatre piece is recommended to all who appreciate beautiful writing, full developed characters and a bit of mystery.

Do we know Anne Hathaway now?
The mystery of Anne Hathaway's relationship with her husband, Will Shakespeare, is explored with delicacy, charm, and skill in this new play script. Plays are often difficult to read because the reader must fill in the set and the action, even the tone of voice of the words on the page. But Vern Thiessen has written Anne's words almost poetically in his search for the solution to the famous mystery of "the second best bed." . Theissen doesn't pretend that he has actually solved this mystery. In fact, he denies that his "answer" is any more valid than anyone else's. but I will always believe that he must have been granted special insight. He captures the pain, joy, poignancy, and --- yes --- the mystery of this most tantalizing puzzle of a marriage. After all, William Shakespeare did retire to Stratford --- and to Anne.
