Based on the material in the second edition of the Rotary Drilling Series, these books are both more condensed and more technical than the drilling series. This series responds to the need for more detailed explanation of drilling procedures and the math used in connection with them. Review questions are provided. While most rig operations are routine, some are not, and nonroutine operations can be vitally important. Thus, Segment III covers procedures and calculations necessary for directional drilling, fishing, well control, and rig optimization.
