Both Schnabel and the Pro Arte Quartet were (and still are) known more for their sensitive interpretation of music than flashy displays of virtuosity. As such, this restored recording of the Schumann and Dvorák piano quintets is a valuable addition to the libraries of historical collectors and neophyte aficionados as well.
