Domus, without a doubt the best piano quartet of all time, deserves better than this reissue. Not that its 1989 coupling of Schubert's Piano Quintet and Adagio & Rondo Concertante isn't fully worthy of being reissued. Like virtually every other recording it ever made, Domus' Schubert disc is brilliantly performed, subtly interpreted, and joyously musical. No, what it doesn't deserve is to be given no more credit in the liner notes than the name of the group. For the record, Domus was pianist Susan Tomes, violinist Krysia ...
