Salty Jack was once a pirate - who set sail around the world in his own pirate ship - a fiercesome frigate called The Laughing Lobster. It was quite a ship, with three huge sails and a black and white skull and crossbones flag flaying at the top of its mast. The Laughing Lobster had many an adventure, with Salty Jack at the helm.Salty Jack was, what he liked to think, a good pirate. He only ever robbed from the rich and the unkind, and when he got back, gave most of his riches to the poor. But one day he realized that any kind of stealing was not really a nice thing to do, and so he gave it up being a pirate completely. He thought that would mean no more adventures, as he now only wanted a peaceful life living in his shack in the town of Barnacle.Salty's shack is just a stone's throw from the Barnacle docks where all the big ships and small set sail for the ocean, and just round the corner from the Barnacle Museum. It's like a wooden cabin that you might see in the mountains or woods, but all around it on the outside are old fishing nets here, rusty fish hooks there and broken wooden barrels everywhere. The windows are covered in dust and cobwebs, and the front door, once painted bright red, is now peeling its paint and looks quite wobbly. It might not seem much, but Salty is perfectly happy here.
