KILBAR.--DROVER ROCKS. 95 two-thirds of a mile from the above; and doubtless other equally shoal places would have been found if the heavy swell had not forbidden a closer examination. Doirlinn head, outside Grean head, bearing S.W. S., leads to the north-west of the reef two cables, and clears all other dangers oft' the north-west entrance of the sound. It is an extraordinary circumstance that such an important.danger as the above should not have been known to the inhabitants of the sound, Temple rocks having been generally supposed by them to be the outer dangers. Temple ROCk, with only 8 feet water, lies with the lower beacon on Fiaray island, over which Fuiay island is seen, bearing S. E., one mile. Inner Temple ROCk, with 7 feet water, lies in the uneven rocky ground to the north-east of Fiaray, and bears N.N.E. northerly, 3J cables from the lower Kate beacon. The height ou Grean head, showing over the north end of Fiaray, bearing S.W. f W., leads to the north-westward; but the ground to the south-east is very uncertain, and rocks with only 6 feet water, were found lying as far out as 3 cables east from the lower beacon. Hasgeir Fiaray, a large flat rock which is covered at 8 feet flow, lies N.E. by E. f E., 2 miles from Fiaray, and N.N.W. % W., 1 mile from Lungay; a number of small rocks surround it, and it shoals off in a westerly direction 3J cables, at which distance there is only 10 feet. Grean head, over north end of Fiaray, bearing S.W. by W. W., leads over the north end of the rock; and the south-west end of Eriskay, touching the west side of Lungay, S.E. by S., leads over the outer part of the rock. Outer Hasgeir Fiaray lies north-west half a mile from Hasgeir Fiaray. There are several small rocks on...
