Seller's Description:
None. Very Good. Sarah Trimmer's famous educational work. Sacred History was originally published over 1782-5 and came as a result of her teaching her sons. Trimmer soon became aware of the need for interesting, moral and religious texts for her children and therefore created her own. The sixth edition of this work. Trimmer wrote many children's works and was quite the educational reformer. She founded several Sunday schools and charity schools. She was a high church Anglican and her works reflect her views. In a full calf binding with gilt stamping to the spines. Externally, generally smart. Spines have some rubbing, mainly to the head and tail. Several patches of rubbing vertically to spines. Small patches of minor rubbing to the boards and joints. Front hinge is slightly strained but firm to vol i. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with the odd spots throughout. Ribbon bookmarks present to all volumes. Very Good.
