I watched this film on netflix, and am now buying a copy for myself to watch and re-watch. It is an amazing ensemble of non-actors-actors -- It doesn't FEEL like a movie --it feels like you have been transported into these peoples hearts and minds and lives -- The undercurrents of things-unspoken and social-strata that pretends not to know the dark truths of others hangs heavily like a shroud upon this collection of every-day folks who could easily be our own small community...though a "foreign" film, there is nothing foreign about the depths of our need to belong and be loved -- nor in our responsibilities to one another when hearts and souls are being abused or betrayed. So universal are the persons and storyline and portrayals, that you forget that there are subtitles to assist with the Swedish/English dialogue --and so endearing do the characters become, that their tragedies beget your tears, and their triumphs beget resounding cheers. Love, loss, humanity, hope and tragedy and more ....such are the things of this life fully lived ....
