Prior to reading this book, I had read "Bluebear". Although this book is not a continuation of that book, it does have the same wit and interesting pattern of thought. I enjoyed "Bluebear" so much I looked up other books by Walter Moers and immediately ordered this one. I was not disappointed! The sketches in between the storylines are amazin... g; the plot is so timeless and basic, but the fabric around it is so craftily woven that you fall, head over heels, in love with Rumo and all of the characters whose lives he touches. I was disappointed when I got to the final page - not because it didn't fulfill my expectations, but because the book was over. I recommend this to anyone who wants to stretch their imagination beyond the realm of good versus evil. Beyond the planet, beyond the continents, beyond your borders - there lies Zamonia!
