Twelve-year-old, Mika Smith is convinced his twin sister Ellie isnt dead, despite what the police tell his family. He is haunted by surreal nightmares that give him glimpses of the truth and he senses that his world is built on lies, but even his parents label him as disturbed and for a while he feels like hes going crazy. But when the Fit For Life project is launched in school and he suspects a sinister objective, his counsellor, Helen, realises Mika knows more than is possible and tells him he might find his beloved sister if he goes along with it. So Mika enters a competition based on a virtual reality game called Pod Fighter and competes through three rounds of exciting tasks in his quest for Ellie.
