This book covers all of the bases of this time period in American history. It is so hard to find books on this subject and I was concerned with this being one of the few that it wouldn't cover it all. But it does.
Colman has "eye witness accounts" and historical facts, the timeline in the back is so useful and the images are fantastic.
It was clearly written for a younger audience, but as an adult I found it a great review of the WWII info that I learned in school... and didn't necessarily care enough about at the time to absorb, so it was a welcome overview. And I think that as a woman I would have really enjoyed it if a teacher had utilized this text in class. Much more fun than the dry textbooks that they used.
These women have been all but forgotten, and as the granddaughter of a "Rosie" I really wanted to know more. This book gave me that. I can't wait to show the pictures to my grandmother and see what she has to say. I think it will really bring back some memories for her. It is a time period that she really loved.
