Seller's Description:
Very good in very good jacket. xiii, 306 pages. Figures. Tables. Index. Inscribed on fep. Here, for the first time, is the essential Kanter: the cutting-edge ideas and wisdom of nearly two decades that are even more relevant today. With Rosabeth Moss Kanter on the Frontiers of Management, the renowned management guru presents a sweeping look back across the changing landscape of business-what has worked well, what hasn't, and what businesses still need to learn-as well as a penetrating look forward at the challenges of leadership and innovation still to be met. In this landmark book, Kanter has integrated all her Harvard Business Review articles and the framing essays she wrote as Editor into a powerful new statement. Ever at the frontier, Kanter has published this book as a compelling call to action. Together, her articles and essays crystallize the real work of business leaders and serve as a provocative reminder of why they should never lose sight of the fact that values-and people-are the foundation of business success. Rosabeth Moss Kanter (born March 15, 1943) is a professor of business at Harvard Business School, where she holds the Ernest L. Arbuckle Professorship. In addition she is director and chair of the Harvard University Advanced Leadership Initiative. Kanter has written numerous books on business management techniques, particularly change management; she also has a regular column in the Miami Herald. She is known for her 1977 study of tokenism-how being a minority in a group can affect one's performance due to enhanced visibility and performance pressure. Her study of Men and Women of the Corporation is a classic in critical management studies, bureaucracy analysis and gender studies. She was an economic adviser to Michael Dukakis in his 1988 bid for presidency. Together they wrote a book entitled Creating the future: the Massachusetts comeback and its promise for America, an examination of the Massachusetts Miracle. Kanter co-founded the consulting firm Goodmeasure Inc. and has served as its chair since 1980. Her consulting clients have included large companies such as IBM, Gap Inc., Monsanto, British Airways, and Volvo.
