For those whose bells are rung by such a thing, it will deliver what is required, with a set of easy-on-the-ears crossover pieces and in the deluxe edition a collection of standard operatic arias on a second CD. The crossover disc is the more interesting one, and if money is at issue you might easily opt for the single-disc release. It represents an attempt on the part of these Russian stars to come up with an equivalent language to that employed by the likes of Sarah Brightman, and as such it's quite successful. Russian composer Igor Krutoy, whose career goes back to Soviet times, works with Lilia Vinogradova and several other lyricists (one text is by Andrea Bocelli, whose music is probably the nearest analogue to what you'll hear here), using mostly Italian, to produce duets that begin with Netrebko in the middle...
