Finally, it may be well to add that, although both Editors are jointly responsible for the whole volume, the first portion, to the fifth chapter of Book IV., is mainly the work of Dr Northcote; the remainder of the text, and Note C in the Appendix (on St Peter's Chair), is the work of Mr Brownlow.
