This book on rock art by Indians of the western states is unique look into the history of America's first native Americans. "The author takes you through many complicated rock writings, idea by idea...some are important records from history...others amused or caught the imagination of those who were here first." The author is "part Indian, learned from and laughed at the white man." The book is in very nice condition with no owner names or other writing; it still retains the feel of a book that has been seldom used. The dust jacket has a couple of short tears and short crease to edges, else in nice, presentable condition with no markings. An excellent book for anyone desiring an insight of how extensive rock writting was, and how the Native Americans could leave an easily understood message for others to follow; regardless of the tongue spoken by other tribes.
Please bear in mind the author may have different interpretations than other readers, but from what I've seen, those other interpretations are not too far apart in the story being told.
