We swing between road rage and resurrection, between the world as it is and the world we hope it might be... Moved into fresh areas of dialogue and a strong and empathetic kind of pastoral care, the essay on Rage and Helplessness has enable us more adequately to articulate who and where we are in our senior years and to access a modicum of help and healing. Our presenters have continued to grapple with a variety of issues, such as discerning the shape of the emerging church, searching out inspiring pioneers of peacemaking, exploring Buddhist spiritual enrichment, analyzing feminist theology and the insights of George Lakoff, countering the destructive effects of the Enlightenment with Indian identity, searching for a personal God in the realm of the unknowable, and exploring the meaning of the Trinity and its continuing historical impact. For us a new experience has been the attempt to do collaborative work through brief papers on a theme. Sessions on "Accompaniment with the Ill and Dying" and "Death and Beyond" gave us gifts of deepened insight and compassionate community. We invite you to engage in similar journeys.
