Barbara Nadel's ,murder mysteries are incredible with the feel of Turkey and it many different cultures. I am hooked on her books because they are so interesting and profund. This one takes you to a area of Turkey were there is a great mystery about an ancient religion. As in her other books Nadel explores the complex relationships between the many ethic groups that make up Turkey and Istanbul.
Her main characters are well thought out with very human flaws. Of course everyone is smoking in all the books, but that is also interesting considering our thoughts in the west on it.
