Some will say that there isn't a lot new here, particularly if you're a small, new company in a very competitive, fast-paced environment. They'll also point out that you can read very similar material at the authors' blog or their other online compilation of essays, Getting Real.
I suppose that's true. But there is a certain cool vibe to it that still makes it entertaining to read for those who hate the endless organizational tedium that sucks the initiative out of you. You know, meetings that only give the illusion of forward progress, taking the easy way out by playing with the abstract (plans, spreadsheets, etc.) instead of putting real products out there, building a real business instead of something to flip to a Greater Fool, and so on.
In my case, they're preaching to the choir, but sometimes that's what you need to effect some change.
