Set in the Pacific Northwest circa 1992, Restless Guilt details Kevinas life as a reporter, as he navigates between past and present relationships involving lovers, ex-lovers, fellow community activists, sport fans, and drinking pals, all of whom seem to be gaining distance from him. This becomes particularly evident when he becomes a victim of vandalism and is attacked by an unidentified assailant. Compounding his troubles are his friends who are occupied by their own crises and who turn to Kevin for help. Kevin listens but remains faithful to keeping his story a secret, though it interlaces with each friend, one of whom is the possible reason for the mischief against him.
