The post-graduate courses in the Henry Phipps Psychiatric Clinic and the Harriet Lane Home are now established, and though we have received during the year 323 applications, we have admitted only thirteen; of these, nine completed the course, three in Psychiatry and six in Pediatrics. Each of these students receives a comprehensive course of classes and lectures, this instruction being given by paid instructors. Certificates were granted to those who completed the course. The steadily increasing size of the family to be taken care of in the Home has added to the duties of Miss Miller, the nurse in charge. We have averaged in our dining room this last month 308 people, three times a day, and it has been necessary to increase the number of servants to be able to take care of these and the rooms in our new addition. We were fortunate in being able to retain Miss Miller and hope we may long be able to do so. During the month of August private patients were transferred to the new Marburg building from Ward B. Ward B was cleaned and painted and additional bathrooms and toilet facilities added. This provided accommodations for eleven assistants or head nurses in single rooms, and seventy-two pupils, two in a room, and has proven a very comfortable and satisfactory addition to the Nurses' Home. The pupils that entered in the autumn class were given rooms there as well as the graduate nurses engaged in work in the Henry Phipps Psychiatric Clinic.
