The book, "Reparations for African-Americans," written by Diambu Smith, M.P.A., deals with the topic of what is the U.S. Government to do for centuries of enslaving and discriminating against Black people in America. As the iconic rapper JAY-Z once rapped in a song, "Pay us what you owe us for all the years that you held us. We can talk but money talks so talk more bucks!!!" But this isn't a hip hop song. This book is a serious analysis of the topic of reparations to African-Americans for all of the years of forced free labor and servitude, or slavery. Reparations are in order for all of the years under Jim Crow law, touting that law as "separate but equal," but really conditions between Blacks and Whites were separate but unequal, with Whites having the upper hand over Blacks when it came to goods and services in a Jim Crow society. The book, "Reparations for African-Americans," cites several sources for some critical concepts and statistics related to the topic, both past and present. The book states that reparations are in order for all of the pain and suffering Black Americans went through at the hands of White Slave-Masters and the Codes of White Supremacist laws. The descendants of slaves are left with the lingering effects of slavery and Jim Crow laws without just compensation. No more will we take this racial discrimination and oppression!!! Reading the book, "Reparations for African-Americans," will leave you demanding reparations NOW!!!
