A very good story about the U.S. Battleship "Maine" as it arrives in Havana Harbor. The U.S. Government sent the Maine to Havana for all the wrong reasons, and this story reveals that Captain Sigsbee (Maines C.O.) felt his presence was entirely misunderstood by The Spanish goverment. The Maine blew up with a large loss of life, due to problems with it's own boilers, but the public and the Spanish government felt the explosion was caused by mines on the harbor bottom.
