Very Good in Good jacket. Hardcover with printed cloth boards in dust jacket, 1939, octavo, 388pp., sparsely illustrated in b&w. Book VG with hinges rubbed and cracking, wear to corners, rubbing, binding just tender, previous owner Emil A. Gutheil's stamp, plate, and signature to front endpapers, notes in pencil to a few pages, otherwise text clean but toned throughout. DJ good with tears to spine face at middle and bottom, toning, other tears and rubbing, now in archival mylar wrap. Gutheil was a Polish-American psychiatrist specializing in human sexuality, music therapy, and psychoanalysis. He was a founder of the Association for the Advancement of Psychotherapy and editor of the American Journal of Psychotherapy.
