The Rowe exhibition was the first of five retrospectives planned by the museum to honor the work of artists who have made a major contribution to the visual arts in San Antonio and South Texas.With 48 color plates, this catalog beautifully illustrates the evolution of Rowe's abstract painting style. An extended essay by William J. Chiego traces the artist's life and career, giving detailed consideration to the stylistic properties of Rowe's work. The catalog also includes an interview with Rowe, in which he reflects on his artistic development. A checklist of the exhibition, a bibliography, and lists of the collections and exhibitions of Rowe's work complete the volume.
