I don't presume to have better taste than the rank and file enthusiast, but I'm sharing my thoughts here because I've always been fascinated by what others think about musical works, whether recordings I'm considering for purchase, or things I've loved for some time. I'm guessing many of you feel the same way, especially if you've gotten to this point in my narrative. At least online and brick-and-mortar retailers seem to base many of their marketing strategies on this presumption. If you end up investigating one of the recordings I've noted here, then the book's major objective has been achieved.
