From one brain to another
If I were ever in the situation Allan Ropper's patients find themselves in, I hope someone like him would be there to take care of me, in as much as one can be taken care of in the situations described in this book. Ropper is a clinical neurologist, one of the best in his field. More importantly for his patients, he comes across as a doctor who knows that he must handle them with care and humanely and he has a charming sense of humour. What more could any patient, let alone those with brain disorders, wish for when the chips are down!
This is more than a medical book. It is an honest, sympathetic and informative account of what people have to go through when afflicted with brain disorders of one kind or another, written in language that everyone can understand.
