Este libro intenta llenar dicho vac???o cr???tico al mismo tiempo que tambi???n explora las dificultades a las que las escritoras a???n se enfrentan para crear protagonistas liberalizadas e independientes. Garro y m???s claramente Pagano son ejemplos de la explosi???n en publicaci???n femenina que se viene llevando a cabo en M???xico desde la d???cada de los ochenta. Por otra parte, Castillo y Escand???n se han beneficiado asimismo del boom de escritura femenina chicana y latina en el mercado estadounidense. Sin embargo, si en muchos sentidos estas escritoras han sido claramente privilegiadas, en muchos otros contin???an estando marginadas con respecto, por ejemplo, a su inclusi???n en el canon literario y al reconocimiento p???blico del valor literario de su obra. Esta ambig???edad se traduce igualmente en sus protagonistas enloquecidas y as??? mientras que todos los textos coinciden en presentar a la loca como una figura de ruptura de unos comportamientos y espacios tradicionalmente asignados a lo femenino, igualmente exhiben la dificultad a la hora de mantener a flote esta imagen literaria de una liberalizaci???n femenina.
