Someone whom I respect had already read the book, and quoted it in conversation. Although he didn't intend to recommend the book, I decided I would like to hear more. I wish I had read such a book 25 years ago. Very useful, very helpful.

a book to arm dad
Mainly focusing on fathering, but with applications for mom to use too, Lewis' book is practical and encouraging for the tricky path of getting our sons through boyhood to manhood in one piece.

Insightful
This book was recommended to me by a friend. It is for a father to use but as a mother it also gave me some great insight as to what is important in life for my young sons. I believe this book will be instrumental to all parents in understanding key times in their sons' lives and how to acknowledge them The author not only describes how or what you can do but incorporates many of his own life experiences into the book, allowing for a more thorough understanding of the material. This books serves as a good reminder of how very important it is to see your sons through their own "rites of passage" and acknowledge their own induction into manhood while also providing them the guidance on how to live a Godly life.
