The Magma Arizona Railroad began in 1915 as a narrow gauge line to haul ore from the Magma copper mines around Superior, Arizona, and was converted to standard gauge in 1922-23. In the 1960's, diesel replaced steam, but this railroad was among the last commercially operated steam powered railroads in the nation. Includes over 200 photographs, maps and scale drawings. A superior, well-illustrated history.
