Spine slant, fairly strong toward lower end, with no effect on very tight, somewhat stiff binding. Toning from paste bleed-through on front and rear endpapers; occasional checked or circled names throughout; most pages clean and bright though somewhat stiff. Cloth clean and bright with touches of surface loss at tips. Sheet w. pp.227-228 cut somewhat long, now taped within along lower corner well away from text. Light staining upper page edges with no associated effects.
