Ram of God is an outstanding success for Keane. The characters are highly develeoped and complex. The setting is beautifully described. He really gets into the inner life of an Irish village. I enjoyed this novel a great deal. It is particularly good on country life, village intrigue, Catholic life, and the slow development of a love story.
