In fact, they've created a very solid hip-hop album from top to bottom; the rhymes are creative and the beats are very on point. Refusing to use any keyboards (a rarity in the modern hip-hop era), the duo construct their music completely from the funky records they dig up; Pete Rock would love these guys and their pure hip-hop aesthetic. He'd probably also have loved the fact that the album has over 20 solid tracks, but People Under the Stairs could have used a good A&R rep here to cut out a few of the lesser tracks and up the ante on the more solid ones, making them even more banging.
