I was a friend of author and had known him since very early on in my career in physics so my opinion will be somewhat biased. This book is a must in any serious collection of physics titles as many results were original at the time it was published. This book has both historical and scientific significance as many of the concepts are of enormous value to the birth of modern day condensed matter physics.
