The book presents a linguistic study of Quantifiers and Negative Polarity Item(NPI) in Kokborok, a Tibeto-Burman language spoken in Tripura, India. Also, it projects different forms of negation in relation to yes/no questions, ambiguity, conditionals, adversative predicates and embedded clauses as well as negation of quantifierss, etc. Moreover, it introduces examples of NPI and quantifiers in languages of different Language Families such as Arabic, Croatian, English and Russian. NPI in this language can occur in negative contexts. Also, the occurrence of NPI can be noticed in imperative sentences, interrogative sentences as well as in affirmative sentences. Similarly, data analysis discloses that there is such kind of merger between NPI and negation as well as it is between quantifiers and negation. Furthermore, the study offers different kinds of quantifiers which are expressed through one specific term and they are differentiated only by the plural marker of the noun they qualify. Besides, the study presents the syntactic and the semantic positions of NPI and quantifiers and how they are linked to negation.
