A nice collection of modern Brazilian music from the catalog of Putumayo. The focus is primarily on reggae-influenced music and forro (an accordion-dominated dance music). Some of the notables in popular Brazilian music have contributions here, such as Chico Cesar and Gal Costa. Others are relative newcomers. The music is quite good at most points -- at times, perhaps a bit slow to dance to, but always with a nice little bump to it. The highlights include Lazzo's opening track, and perhaps the Dick Dale imitator that shows up in Gal Costa's cover of "Chiclete Com Banana."
