Pianist Gil Goldstein's debut as a leader is mostly an introspective affair emphasizing wistful moods. Goldstein plays quite well and is heard in separate duets with bassist Jeff Berlin and Fred Miller's English horn, in a trio with Berlin and drummer Bob Moses, playing "Without an Anchor" with harmonica great Toots Thielemans, adding the Latin percussion of Ray Barretto to two numbers, and backing a vocal by Mary Eiland.
