Incision, sternum to pubes in all cases, the inci sion should be proportioned to the size of the adhesions; six and a half pints of ascitic uid; solid tumor of right ovary removed, weighing seventeen pounds five ounces; ligature around pedicle, and vessels tied separately also; bled twice; atulence relieved by introducing tube into rectum in three weeks, completely recovered.
