This is a required text for a graduate class I am taking in the Psychology of Development and Adjustment. The book is very well thought out, and presented. Both authors are past Presidents of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology and they relied on over 100 reviewers to give it broad input from professionals in the field. From the beginning, they incorporate what they know about learning and teaching to maximize the effectiveness of the text as a learning tool. For as much information as is presented, it is amazingly easy to read. They also wanted this book to be a good resource for further studies, and it includes 50 pages (in small print!) of current references on the vast spectrum of subjects covered or touched on in the text. Their commitment to staying abreast of the current research is a good reason to get the most recent addition. I am very happy to add this book to my reference library.
