Charles James Blomfield's insightful volume of notes and commentary on 'Prometheus Bound', providing a critical study and exploration of the classic tragedy. 'Prometheus Bound' is an Ancient Greek tragedy typically attributed to Aeschylus. Blomfield was a divine and classicist, and a bishop for the Church of England for thirty-two years. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front paste down and stamp to the recto to the front endpaper, 'W. Hopton'. In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart.
