I bought the Russian propaganda for many years that the CIA and LBJ had something to do with JFK's death. Pacepa doesn't claim to have insider information about that particular historical event, but he does have intimate knowledge of how the KGB, PGU and VGU work from his days in the DIE.
I know what you're thinking. "If you think you know how those three-letter organizations work, you don't." And you're 100% right. But Pacepa never claims to know. In fact, he is very careful to qualify his statements correctly. "I suspect that ... " and "How it typically worked in those days..." and other qualifiers really present a great and cogent case for the assassination being a Soviet operation that went well or terribly, depending on who you ask, and when.
His other book, "Disinformation" was also very good. I am personally glad that I encountered and read this book.
