I bought this book for my college introduction to C++ class. I could have bought the newer edition, but my instructor said there is very little difference between the fifth and sixth editions. I saved a lot of money buying this one. My instructor's lectures follow the the book exactly, with the same examples and tables. This class was my first experience programming. This book has helped me get 100% on every exam and assignment so far. Its very easy to read and there are many examples and explainations. I highly recommend this text to anyone who wants to learn programming. The main thing I do not like about it is the paperback cover, it bends and crumples easily in my backpack.
