The sound is similar to what Kerr was concurrently doing with the Whatnauts; the up-tempo tunes spoke of social problems, and the original and new renditions of ballads were sweet enough to syrup a stack of pancakes. The falsetto-led ballads and the up-tempo tracks are the most soulful; the ballads led by the light, unemotional tenor -- he signs 'em straight with no vocal runs or inflections for dramatics, and this will please lovers of light soul/pop, but will disappoint fans who like a little more emotional evolvement. ~ Andrew Hamilton, Rovi
