How could there be so much cruelty in our world I will never know, this book has opened many eyes of those who have never heard the truth. I read it in two evenings the last of which was until 3:00 am because I had to know what happened to her or I couldn't sleep. My heart goes out to the author, a truely remarkable woman who went through so much. A very touching story.

Prisoner of Tehran: A Memoir
I loved reading this book. Makes you receive how great to live in Australia being a woman. I would recommend this book to anyone. It was great. I could not put it down until I had finished reading.

This is bit of reality that remains written on the heart. I had to keep saying, "This happened, It's real." It is human nature written very large. Although Marina finally is released to her family and the man she loves, you are torn for the family of the man who forced her to marry him, the man who was a combination of force, self-interest, kindness, and longing for her. He remains in your heart as the ultimate tragic figure long after you have closed the book. How many people in the world have "meant well", and got so stuck in a brutal cultural situation that everyone they touch suffers? Violence itself is the Bad Guy here, and Marina the strong woman who more than survives it.
