If you really are interested in this getting Principles of Plant Breeding, don't get the second ED, get the first. For my plant propagation class, my teacher John Navazio recommended to get the first ED because it is less technical and a little less wordy, because Mr Allard really likes to be wordy in this book. This is def not for a beginner, and not an easy read, but I would recommend it for a good breeding text!
