Many of the current interpretations of our Revolutionary history are merely forms of propaganda designed for party advantage or founded on mistaken ideas of patriotic duty. And when all these are swept away and the events of these momentous years are studied for the truth that is in them then only will the profession of historian have come into its own in America.
