Text in Spanish, with richly printed, full page reproductions of black ink illustrations by the Spanish abstract painter Antonio Saura (1930-1998). Aside from some crinkling and wear to the top edge of the front panel of the paper dustjacket, the binding is tight, sharp, clean and bright. Dustjacket now protected from further wear by a Mylar sleeve. Brown cloth covered board binding with handsomely embossed cream text and illustrated endpapers. A brown ribbon bookmark is intact and attached. Original texts by the Spanish mystic poet and saint Saint John of the Cross (1542-1591) are introduced thoroughly with substantial notes and bibliography.
