He is Professor of Kinesiology at Acadia University, where his research interests include aesthetics, philosophy of sport, and philosophy and popular culture. With over fifty essays published in numerous journals and anthologies, he is also the author of many books, most recently the scholarly Kinetic Beauty: The Philosophical Aesthetics of Sport (Routledge, 2020) and the literary Fledges and Phraselings (Anaphora, 2019).
