A thoughtful riot!
I really enjoyed this book -- so much in fact, that when I picked it up and read a part of it in a bookstore, it was painful for me to then wait to receive it after ordering it online! It's filled to the brim with jokes and though at some points they can distract, overall, they help to keep the tone less heavy. I'm not a philosophy major nor do I have any credentials that would make me one to say whether this is a full introduction or whether it's thorough or not, however, as a layperson, I feel as if I've gotten a nice, broad introduction to philosophy with a lot of humor. This book doesn't use many esoteric terms that will lose you, it's funny, straightforward, and thought provoking. I really liked it and my 4 star review only comes because: 1. there wasn't an option for 4 1/2 stars and 2. because it got very thick at just a few points (too much so for this layperson as I feared it might lose me). Though overall, definitely worth a read! I recommend it wholeheartedly!
